What was I in my past lives?

 This combination of question and images reminds me of a story Laurie Anderson told during a performance.  Through a psychic or something she asked about her past life and she was told she had been a hat.  A hat? Yes, it went on to say she had been a bird who was captured for it's feathers which then became a hat.
