The Future of Public Art

What is the future for public art with the city of Atlanta?
Yesterday's post was so amusing, I thought - why not continue on an art theme?  Here's another one that I included in the book.  Although it's specific to Atlanta, I think it can still be appreciated.  I was in hospital cafeteria and then the emergency room when I got this call. 1. Full of artificial colors and preservatives and served up in a very unappetizing manner 2.  Flash and glam in presentation but the reality is practically DOA  3.  So feeble it can barely hobble down the hall unassisted

Oh Oracle! So cruel!  Well, that was back in 2008. Any thoughts on the state of public art now?
Maybe someone can ask that on February 7th, the next day I take calls.  Also, if you have any suggestions for a city I should visit for the 7th, let me know.  Just needs to be within a 5 hour driving radius of Atlanta.

The doctor said, "The prognosis is not good." The notion of public art in Atlanta, has been left to die in an old folks home.

Or were the artists at that time so worn out from years of butting their heads against brick walls that they just couldn't go on?
