Call and Response: Readings from July 7 2011

Just when I think I've turned over every rock in Atlanta looking for new meaningful images, I discover the Summit Federal Building.  My favorite image came from Floor 18, where one finds the public restrooms.  I spotted a room just off from the snack bar that was completely empty except for a stack of large boxes in front of a fabulous view.  I found the boxes contained hundreds of old school business phones, the beloved ubiquitous phones we used during my years in the corporate world. I wonder if they've trashed all the Rolodexes too.  The scene reminded me of Chris Jordan's series Intolerable Beauty - specifically the image of millions of discarded cell phones (ironically, shot in Atlanta).
